Bill of Rights for Parents

1.  My child has a right to be safe at school.  This includes both physical and emotional safety, including not being bullied.

2. My child has a right to learn in the least restrictive environment.

3. My child has a right to be taught by a highly qualified teacher who has deep understanding of the content, and who uses effective methods needed to teach each child  appropriately.

4.  My child has the right to be treated with respect.

5.  My child has the right to a year’s academic growth each school year.

6.  My child has the right to express her personality, whether outgoing or introverted, without being punished for being herself.

7.  My child has the right to develop talents and explore many different types of learning.

8.  My child has the right to make friends without any stigma attached.

9.  My child has the right to fail without being bailed out by parents.

Remember, FAIL means First Attempt in Learning.

10. My child has the right to become a productive citizen of the school

          and the community.
